I am always on the lookout for information about creativity and novel writing. I just found a great resource online. Robert Olen Butler has a great site at www.fsu.edu/butler. he uploaded a bunch of videos and texts showing how he creates a short story from idea to finish. It’s like a little mini-workshop online. Highly recommended. And here are today’s job leads for writers (Check out WritingHermit’s Big Job and Resource Page for more):
1) http://aan.org/alternative/Aan/Jobs – The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies (AAN) has a good job bank.
2) http://www.careerjet.co.uk/search/query.html?t=&s=freelance+writer&r=54&l=&c=&y=&p= — Another great UK job site featuring lots of freelance writing gigs.

Dear WritingHermit,
I found your blog yesterday and am impressed with your lists of links. I have referred my readers here for some great leads! Maybe you could also list my Publishing Careers blog (http://publishingcareers.blogspot.com) as a resource?
Thanks!

I love the Butler site too! I teach a class for writers about the pubilshing process and I often get questions outside of that scope; mainly How do I find an agent? and How do I finish my book? So I refer Butler’s site a lot. It’s a great tool.
Thank you for being so diligent and comprehensive with your resources and tips. I’m going to post your site link on the Writers Meet Up in the Nashville area. It’s nice to know there are people out there that love this business enough to share it with others.
I’m giving you a 10 for Blogging My Arteries!
